The
Speaker Lab workshop will see the activation of objects and
environments to amplify an alternate use of nearly anything at hand.
Using a length of wire, a magnet, piece of tape and a coffee cup,
Speaker Lab participants will be instructed on fashioning these
materials into a fully operational audio speaker. Once complete, the
speaker will contribute to the building of a public sound system. When
at this time, an additional use of the speaker will reveal that nearly
anything can announce audio using the simple construction of wire and
magnet.
As one participant remarked after a successful Soundsystem:
“That’s not science, that’s Black Magic!”
